My dog died and she had six puppies?!!!?

My golden retriever was ran over and we had to have her put to sleep. She had six nine day old puppies. I have been feeding them and they are doing great. Growing and everything. But one of the males has a problem. On and around his and where his umbilical cord was is really red. Like it's been rubbed raw. I can't afford to take him to the vet right now. Is there anything I can put on it? Like a cream or ointment? Also, I know I can't submerge them in water, but I can bathe them by holding above the water. Is there any shampoos that would be safe for them at this age?
