Why is she so jealous?

My fiance's ex (his daughters mom) can be the easiest person to talk to sometimes but.. others she can be extremly pissy with me. She knows that things between them are over, but seems to think that he still loves her. I love this man with my entire life, i dont want to mess things up with him and i really dont want to risk not being able to see his daughter.. ugh
