My palm pre was stolen ! :(?

My mom is sure i left it somewhere, even though i'm forgetful, my pre is NOT something i'd carelessly forget! i've payed insurance for it since i got it,IF I REPORT IT WILL I GET A NEW ONE FREE? (i have sprint) if i find out i'm gonna have to put down any money for it i'm gonna be extremely upset, what's the point of insurance if you have to pay for it in the end. i could probably buy more than one new phone with all the insurance money i've payed for it !
